Montana River Photography

Welcome! We're excited for the beginning of what is sure to be a great summer of rafting and kayaking, and enjoying all there is to offer in Montana!

Here you can browse and find photographs from Alberton Gorge. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions- your feedback is always appreciated.

Photographs from past seasons, including whitewater rafting and kayaking trips down the Alberton Gorge section of the Clark Fork River, can be found here. We hope that our new format will make ordering prints and digital downloads of your photos even easier.

About

Montana River Photography is a local photography company based out of Missoula Montana.

It is owned and operated by myself, Mike Malament. From June til September I dedicate my life to providing an outstanding photography service for the whitewater rafters, kayakers, and paddlers at Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork River.

I am proud two say that in two years running I have only missed one day on the river. When not standing at Tumbleweed waiting to take your action packed photos I can be found kayaking down rapids and surfing waves.

Frenchie Plushie by TurdDemon

These plushies add a bit of subversive flare to the adorable Frenchie mystique resulting in a unique and squishably cute product. The artist describes on her etsy site:
http://www.etsy.com/people/turddemon

A 10" original art doll by artist, Allyson Gutchell, aka TurdDemon.
This doll is a one of a kind off white/cream colored french bulldog with big pink ears and a blue heart/skull chest.
Done with acrylic paints, various fabrics and polyester fiberfill. Signed on the back.

She's got quite a variety of pieces each bringing her signature flare no matter the subject!

More rad Japanese frenchie duds! “@keigulico: http://bit.ly/ihuKuu http://twitpic.com/434e05” #buhi

Cool Frenchie lineup!

You're joking right? Skeptical Batpig.

It's hard not to anthropomorphize with some of the expressions the batpig makes sometimes... Here he seems to be raising his eyebrows almost superciliously as if whatever (I) the photographer was doing was beyond absurd! To someone unaccustomed to the face of a Frenchie he might seem almost angry, but really it's just another day in the life of a smush-faced batpig!

Batpig works the camera.

I love those side-long glances...well, at least until boredom sets in.

Frog Dogs of the Past: 1912 Sunday Drive With Frenchie

Frenchies rise in popularity coincided with a lot of other changes, the proliferation of the automobile for one, so it's no surprise that someone would want to include their frog dog on their sunday drive. Artist Will Frefe captures this little guy perfectly!

French Bulldog Friends

I can't believe I've gone this long without knowing that French Bulldog Friends, a community for French Bulldog lovers, existed! In addition to being chock full of adorable pictures and videos of Frenchies in various states, it's also a great resource for any information current or prospective French Bulldog owners might need (rescues, health info, breeders etc.). It's very user-friendly, so user-friendly, in fact that I now have a little batpig slideshow to share with you all!! Enjoy!

X-Treme Frenchie Clothes

Yesterday the batpig, Toad (my black lab) and I took advantage of the clear weather to hit up the beach. We all had a great time, and batpig was happy as could be while running around with his soccer ball. However, with winds gusting up to 32 mph his coat was not staying on, and, despite my sacrificing my cashmere scarf to the cause, it was a pretty shivery ride home.

All of this, as you might have guessed, is a prelude to why I wish I had these coveralls by Alpha Icon on hand (yes, they are based in Japan). I found it via a blog by @earth_log Ro Immediately Tomorrow (again, the translation isn't great, but I like imagining what "uplifying syrup" could be).

As fun as it can be to see the batpig in various states of dress, I try to spare him the hassel of wearing "faux-fur" when it's not necessary, but this is incredibly well-designed and made with utility in mind! The batpig may have his own fur to keep him warm, but sometimes it's just no match for the New England weather!

I'm pretty sure the Google Translation into English doesn't do the product justice:

Playing in the snow from your walk everyday, very active in various scenes from wading in the river and the sea.The evolution does not feel comfortable, stress pro-piece is perfect for the dog act.

Translation aside, the graphics and "specs" sections say enough to convince me that this is yet another item going on my "we need to start importing frenchie stuff from Japan stat" list! I'm pretty sure the batpig will thank me!
